The curriculum is based on US Sailing’s Learn Sailing Right for Beginners and Intermediate sailors.

Designed as an introduction to safe powerboat operation. Students will receive hands-on/water instruction and satisfactorily demonstrate On-the-Water Standards. Upon successful course completion and a passing grade on the written test, the student will earn the Florida Bobber Card (myfwc.com)

Students are invited to try sailing in 420s, a two-person sailboat used in high school & collegiate sailing. Students need NOT know how to sail to participate. Participants should be able to swim; bring a life jacket, reusable water bottle, and wear clothing that can get wet.

For the 2019 summer program schedule
  • Refunds will be considered if requested within 72 hours of the first day of class.
  • ESC’s programs are held outside ( and on the water). We have no control over the weather and cannot refund days when the weather is such that it would pose a safety issue for
    students or staff.
  • Classes are held in Overlook Park, 13001 N. Cleveland Avenue, N. Ft. Myers, just over the US 41 bridge into North Fort Myers. ESC is located in the park, adjacent to the Best
    Western Hotel.
  • A Parent’s Day is scheduled the last day of each session. Information about our school year programs will be available and staff will be on hand to answer questions.

Thanks to CMCS (sailing organization), we are able to offer a limited number of scholarships for SAILING this summer. Families who might not otherwise be able to send their child(children) are invited to request a one-time scholarship. For application and information, contact Marla Parker  [email protected]
