Adult Programs

Learn to sail and expand your boating skills

Learning on the water isn't just for kids. At Edison Sailing Center, we offer opportunities for adults to build confidence and skills—safely and at their own pace. For adults ready to try something new—or finally learn what those sails are all about—we also offer Adult Sailing instruction. Whether you're a complete beginner or looking to refine your skills, our hands-on lessons focus on seamanship, problem solving, and confidence at the helm in a supportive, low-pressure environment. Edison Sailing Center is proud to partner with Captain Tim Zimmerman, founder of Rebel Fishing Alliance, to expand opportunities on the water. We offer a variety of powerboat instruction tailored to your needs—from first-time boaters to seasoned captains. Topics include: Basic Powerboat Instruction, Navigation & Local Knowledge, Trailering, Docking & Anchoring, Training on Your Vessel or Ours, and Electronics. From first-time boaters to lifelong learners, our adult programs are rooted in our core values of Respect, Responsibility, and Resilience, making Edison Sailing Center a place where learning truly is for all ages.
