Youth Sailing

A progressive pathway from first sail to confident, capable leaders

At Edison Sailing Center, sailing is more than learning how to steer a boat—it's about building confident, capable kids for life. Our Youth Sailing Program begins as early as age 5 with our Minnow program and continues all the way through high school, growing alongside your child every step of the way. As sailors progress, they develop not only strong sailing skills, but also critical life skills that extend far beyond the water. Through hands-on, on-the-water experiences, students learn problem solving, teamwork, and leadership in a fun, supportive environment. Every lesson is grounded in our three core pillars: Respect—for each other, our instructors, and the marine environment. Responsibility—for their boat, their actions, and their role on a team. Resilience—learning to adapt, persevere, and grow through challenges. From first-time sailors to experienced teens, our program encourages independence, confidence, and a lifelong love of sailing—while fostering values that help students succeed both on and off the water.
